Strengthening Livelihoods in the District of Namaacha 2024

Strengthening Diversified, Sustainable, and Resilient Livelihoods in the District of Namaacha

Kulima's intervention focused on strengthening the diversified, sustainable, and resilient livelihoods of communities in the District of Namaacha.

The project aimed to improve the living conditions of eight agricultural associations in the communities of Mafuiane, Mabenga, Matsequenha, Impaputo, Ndivinduana, Porto-Henrique, and Michangulene within the Administrative Posts of Namaacha-Sede and Changalane, in Mozambique.

The project, which was implemented with funding from Madre Coraje and the Junta de Andalucía, reached 242 families through the implementation of integrated activities such as capacity building, training, debates, and other initiatives encouraging the active involvement of members in decision-making processes.

The main innovation, beyond increasing the production capacity and productivity of the association members and communal fields for intensive monoculture production, was the training and production of energy-dense porridges benefiting children and women with severe anemia.
